Which groups are making an impact in the west?

Having decided that Jesus is the Christ, that he suffered many things, and was rejected by the religious elite of his day, was killed, and rose again three days later (Mk. 8:29,31), you must decide whether or not you wish to become a Christian (whether or not you are a Christian?)…

Here’s how! (8:34)

Deny yourself—Put your life at risk.

Take up your cross—Put your reputation up for ridicule.

Follow Jesus—If you wish to follow, you actually have to follow.

Here’s why!

• Because (for) you will save your life for all eternity, even if you lose it now (8:35).
  
  
• Because (for) your life is more valuable than the whole world—don’t make a foolish deal (8:36).
  
  
• Because (for) once you lose your life, you can’t buy it back no matter how much you have—invest in the future now and don’t look back (8:37).
  
  
• Because (for) in the future, when the tables are turned on the nations of haters of Jesus and Jesus comes in his God-approved glory with his holy warrior entourage, you want to be on his side and not on the side of the adulterous, sinful world—the target of his wrathful judgment (8:38)!

Those who follow Jesus get in on the powerful kingdom of God forever (9:1).
